THE BEATLES: RUBBER SOUL US REVERB - REVOLVER CANADA 1983 STEREO CD
First up, the "Dexterized" version of the US stereo Rubber Soul LP - For those not familiar with it, it is also known by some as the "East Coast" version. It is identical the "regular" US stereo version of the Rubber Soul LP in every way except that it has a layer of reverb across the entire album. That's right. . . .Capitol reverb across the whole LP! It is not dramatic, but it is very noticeable on specific songs where the vocals are completely or partially isolated. Songs like "Girl" and "Wait" are particularly noticeable. . It can be heard clearly on a song like "Think For Yourself," which normally ends cold and dry. On the "Dexterized" version, there is a very definite echoey decay on that last note. . . DESS produced.
Nest, the 1983 Revolver - Canada and US pressing have a differently mastered version that sounds much better than the original stereo versions.
More punch, slightly panned more to the center and clearer sounding - right next to the UK Tube cut - a different sound, and excellent sounding!
Plus 3 bonus tracks - Think For Yorself (Best of GH Reverb), Apple 1975 LP's Got To Get You Into My Life (louder drum fills) & Tomorrow Never Knows (DIFF EQ). These transfers were done direct - no remastering of the sound - so you get what was actually mastered on vinyl, thus you can adjust to your sound preference! 25 tracks
